The Tale of Two Frenchmen- 1802/2022 Part 1-2 of 4.

The intent of this documentary video is telling the truth about the past to the present. The land loss, racism and terrorism of the genocidal colonizers, with other interlocking themes that still continue into current times. It shows how two Frenchmen who were born in the same year, in the same Missouri territory came to the beautiful Mora Valleys, but whose paths differed dramatically in terms of living with the people of these valleys. History has come full circle to the present with issues of racism, white privileging and colonization occurring today. This series is a walk- through history to modern times showing how power, culture and racial disparity have never really left these lands. It is a presentation about the true miracle of Northern New Mexico people who have held onto their languages, art, music, food, and ways of life from the native, genizaro/mestizo heritage on their lands, while experiencing land loss at a horrendous rate. We invite the public to share this story of our determination to stay strong and fight for the truth, and to heighten the contradictions of the lies taught us which, in turn, intensifies our struggle for balance on Mother Earth.
